Interments continue to take place in our three cemeteries. For information on the sale of interment rights, interments, marking of interments and memorials as well as general rules for visiting our cemeteries, please refer to our Cemetery Rules.
Attention Funeral Homes, per section 3.4 of our Cemetery Rules, we need to be contacted for each service conducted at the cemeteries. The whole of Section 3 will explain why. For the most up to date contact information, please refer to the Township Officers link on Warren County Iowa Auditor page. You may also send an email to: Squaw Creek Township which is then forwarded to each member of the board.
A permanent marker must be placed at any plot in which a person is interred. If a permanent marker is not placed prior to the opening of the grave, we will request a deposit prior to interment pursuant to Section 4.13 in the Cemetery Rules. This deposit will be returned once a permanent marker is put in place. If a permanent marker is not placed, or we have not received proof of purchase stating that one has been ordered within the time allotment required in section 4.1 of the Cemetery Rules, the deposit will be used to purchase a simple marker with Name, Date of Birth and Date of Death. The deposit will be determined based on current costs for a flat grave marker and installation. Prices may vary! We will verify costs with our local provider at the time of a burial, and if they are not correct, this page will be updated.
